Jeffrey Tan | 陈伟杨

Jeffrey Tan is a contemporary violinist and aspiring composer/arranger based in Singapore. At the tender age of 5, Jeffrey started playing the violin classically and has not looked back since.

Starting out with his roots in the local bar scene, Jeffrey has been increasingly involved in the production of local music, playing for notable musicians such as Syed Ahmad and Rahul Advani. Other than doing freelance session work of diverse genres, Jeffrey is also part of the 'Y String Quartet', as well as top 40s cover band 'The Outliers'.

Other than local artists, Jeffrey has also moved on to the international stage, playing for award-winning Australian artist Courtney Conway and Youtube artist Jun Sung Ahn.

In hopes of promoting a more active culture in local music, Jeffrey also took on the role of organiser for The Café Show (5th edition), held at Club Street Social. The Café Show is a community project started in 2013 that aims at making experimental, original, and less heard forms of music more accessible by bringing live acts to cafés in bi-monthly events.
